The Biobank Governance Committee (BGC) is responsible for all of the operations of the biobank, including its set up and long-term operations. It acts as the liaison with the biobank sites. The biobank governance committee will be made up of at least seven people serving a two-year term and will include at least one investigator, and one representative from each biobank (e.g., the biobank manager). There will be regular meetings to review sample quality, activities, acceptability of projects and troubleshooting, request for samples, and new projects.
