POPCORN EDI+I Team Hosts Co-Learning Session on Language Inclusivity in Pediatric Health Research

POPCORN’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigeneity (EDI+I) team recently hosted a co-learning session, Language Inclusivity in Pediatric Research: Ethical Considerations and Best Practices, which brought our network together to gain skills on how to conduct language inclusive research. Through interactive case studies, participants learned how to make their research more accessible and inclusive for all families, regardless of language.

This webinar aimed to address language inclusivity in pediatric research and suggested best practices to work with participants who use languages other than English/French (LOEF) by discussing the importance of language inclusivity and ethical considerations of excluding LOEF participants, and offered practical strategies to engage with interpreters and translators throughout the research process.

Thank you to our EDI+I team for their work and dedication!
