What Do We Want To Know?

We would like to describe the incidence, risk factors, clinical features, and outcomes in children hospitalized with invasive Group A Streptococcus (iGAS) infections and Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream (SAB) infections. The study aims to gain a better understanding of who gets these infections, how they present, how they’re managed, and why some kids get sicker than others.

How Are We Doing It?

By collecting data from medical records of children with a diagnosis of SAB or iGAS.

How Is The Study Going?

Most sites have completed data collection. We are currently awaiting the finalization of data transfer agreements to enable the secure transfer of data from local sites to the POPCORN Data Centre.

 Who Is Included?

All children under the age of 18 who have a diagnosis of either SAB or iGAS.
