Advisory Group of Parents and Patients with Lived Experience (APPLE)

What is APPLE?

The Advisory Group of Parents and Patients with Lived Experience (APPLE) is an advisory committee that brings together researchers and patient and family partners to provide real-time feedback on key projects. APPLE meets quarterly and provides real-time feedback to POPCORN researchers from the patient and family perspective.

The committee aims to provide patient and family advisors with the space to:

  • Bring the patient and family lens to POPCORN projects by reviewing data‑collection methods and advising on practical strategies to strengthen recruitment and increase public interest.

  • Support the effective dissemination of POPCORN research by informing knowledge‑translation activities, interpreting results, and outlining clear, actionable next steps.

  • Co‑develop meeting agendas and priority areas in partnership with researchers, ensuring discussions and decisions are grounded in patient‑partner leadership.
